Lessons from a new medium.
Had SO much fun performing for these guys last night!
Performing online is such a new medium for me. I have to admit, when I first considered the idea of a Virtual Show I was slightly resistant. I really didn’t think there was a way to perform the things I do through a screen. I was kinda sad thinking that this could be the only way I could keep my love for performing going. But I gave it a go.
Turns out it’s been a huge learning curve which has lead me to find creativity within change. I’ve learnt how to embrace new ideas despite desperately clinging onto the old ideas within my comfort zone. And you know what? I’ve absolutely loved doing these shows! I’ve not only loved being able to help inspire wonder, mystery and curiosity in ways I couldn’t before, inside peoples homes, but most of all, I’ve really loved bringing people together as there’s a need for connectivity now more than ever. I honestly can’t wait to do more Virtual Shows!
So as things start to return to normal (whatever ‘normal’ is) what have I learnt from all this? I’ve learnt that we must learn to share the most vulnerable parts of ourselves, and not allow fear to cloud new thoughts and new ways of stepping outside our comfort zones. After all, you never know what surprises await on the other side of the curtain...
My online show is about to evolve into something else so keep an 👁 out!
